Buidling your strength and flexibility, to reduce falls

Our Wellbeing team in Selby are now offering Fall Prevention (chair-based) exercise classes – beginning week commencing 9th January 2023.

The classes will involve seated exercise (with optional standing) to reduce your risk of falls. This class focuses on building strength, maintaining or improving your aerobic fitness, mobility, flexibility, co-ordination and improving circulation.

Includes 35mins (approx.) exercise plus a 25min social with refreshments. Carers, companions etc. also welcome.

When, where & how do I book?

These exercise classes are available at both Selby and Tadcaster Leisure Centres…

– Selby Leisure Centre: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12pm – 1pm, Tuesdays 1:15-2:15pm

– Tadcaster Leisure Centre: Fridays at 11.45am – 12.45pm

These classes are available on our standard pay-as-you-go tariffs and are also included in all membership types.

Classes will be kept to a maximum of 12 people at the moment, so ensure you book your place to avoid disappointment.

Our Wellbeing team are offering these classes to provide not only invaluable exercise, but also as a friendly and social experience.

The team are working closely, but not as an official partner with North Yorkshire Sport, to offer a smooth referral pathway to our ‘social’ session and their individual ‘Get Moving’ programme (North Yorkshire Sport – Get Moving).
