Volunteer

Volunteers are essential to our work and are valuable members of the Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles family. You might have a passion for heritage, enjoy being out in the open air or a big theatre fan; we have volunteer opportunities across our organisation, whatever your interests are.

Most of all, you’ll be supporting our charity and helping give back to your local community. We’d love to hear from you!

Opportunities in Cannock Chase:

Prince of Wales Theatre

You’ll play a vital role as the public face of the theatre during our performances and events, ensuring that our customers have an enjoyable and positive experience. Responsibilities can vary for each performance such as checking tickets, selling programmes and dealing with customer enquiries.

Museum of Cannock Chase

Volunteers support the museum’s work and help to make every visit special. There’s a variety of roles available from coffee shop helpers and gallery guides to assisting with the care of the museum artefacts. A perfect opportunity to learn more about the local history of the area.

Outdoor Recreation

Our Chase Fit programme has a popular volunteer scheme that gets you outdoors. You can become a ‘Walk Leader’, with training to support your role. As well as walking we offer running, gardening, biking and canoeing sessions where volunteers support us in a number of ways. Duties include setting up equipment, supporting new participants and assistance during the activity. It’s a great way to keep active!

Cannock Chase Learn to Swim Programme

Learning to swim is an important life skill for every child. Our Learn to Swim programme has opportunities for volunteers to help children gain their confidence. Our volunteers provide 1-2-1 support in the water, under the guidance of the swimming teacher, helping those children who need that little bit of extra encouragement. DBS Clearances are required for this role.
