Dementia Awareness at Selby Leisure Centre
Join the team at Selby Leisure Centre for two dementia awareness sessions in January.
Too many people affected by dementia feel that society fails to understand the condition they live with. Our team at Selby are running these ‘Dementia Friends’ sessions, which is an Alzheimer’s Society initiative, to help raise awareness and understanding, so that people living with dementia can continue to live in the way they want.
These 90-minute sessions are free and open to the public and aim to give an insight into what it’s like to live with dementia. This can not only help you support a loved one with dementia, but also empower you to help and guide your local community to become more dementia-friendly, with the power of understanding.
